Wolpertingers

Back in July, #42 (Alex Baumans) sent us a some cool photos of the jackalope’s wild and weird Bavarian cousin, the wolpertinger. Alex writes:

Some more Wolpertinger from the Deutsches Jagd- und Fischereimuseum in Munich, but this time taken with my camera. They were the main reason I visited, but an unexpected highlight was the collection of pre-1800 hunting weapons on the top floor. If this is anything to go by, these aristocratic hunting parties were as much about impressing your fellow hunters with your gear as anything.

The wolpertingers are pretty cool, looking like vicious vampiric jackalopes… well, at least until you look down and spot the silly little duck feet. Thanks for sharing, Alex!
